| Hill Scorches Blue Sox for 3 HR Wednesday, September 14th, 2005 Hugh Hill went on an explosive hitting spree against the Sydney Blue Sox at Millers Ballpark today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Delta Theta Phi Keggers to the 9-3 win.
The left fielder finished 3-for-4 with 4 runs scored and 3 runs batted in.
"It was just one of those days," Hill said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball."
Sydney skipper said Hill was "locked-in."
"We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him."
Hugh Hill flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Tex Pruiett in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Tex Pruiett in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off T J Mathews in the 8th.
Thus far this season in 32 games Hill is batting .390 with 9 home runs, 14 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has 30 hits in 77 at-bats. | | |
