Hiller Grabs SL1 Reliever of the Year Award

He may only be 23, but John Hiller of the Augusta Green Jackets has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the Sub League 1.

The reliever was today named the SL1 Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2005.

He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 20 saves in 70 relief appearances and 132 strikeouts in 103.2 innings. He had a record of 6-2 to go with his 1.65 ERA.

He received 16 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. John Dillinger of the Las Vegas Hairy Nuts finished second in voting, while Highball Wilson of the Manchester Bobcats finished third.
