| Ardwick Association's Coonrod to Miss Season Wednesday, July 13th, 2005 The doctors have spoken and Sam Coonrod of the Ardwick Association Baseball Club didn't like what he heard. The 31-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Coonrod sustained his season-ending injury during the Auckland Tuatara game yesterday at Mutiny Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Ardwick Association medical staff reported Coonrod had a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 13 months.
To date this year, he has registered 1 save, 6 wins and 3 losses with a 3.51 ERA. Coonrod has made 34 relief appearances, worked a total of 51.1 innings and surrendered 51 hits. He has fanned 37, issued 23 free passes and held opposing clubs to a .262 batting average. | | |
