| Red-Hot Bat: Detherage Collects Cycle Wednesday, August 10th, 2005 It was a quite a day for Bob Detherage at Anaheim Grounds.
He hit for the cycle, belting out every kind of hit there is -- a single, double, triple and home run. The Eau Claire left fielder accomplished the rare feat during his team's 8-4 victory over the Chestnut Hill Eagles.
"I never even thought about hitting for the cycle and what do you know, I did it," he told BNN reporters at the postgame press conference. "The cycle really doesn't matter to me, it's the win that's important."
Detherage went 4-for-5 in the game with 2 RBI and 4 runs scored.
Bob Detherage tripled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
This season Detherage is batting .255 with 56 RBIs, 62 runs scored and 13 home runs. | | |
