| Beaty on a Rampage, Hits for Cycle Friday, August 12th, 2005 Matt Beaty grabbed a piece of baseball history at Mutiny Ballpark today, when he hit for the cycle and added his name to the record books. The Ardwick Association Baseball Club took a little gloss off his shine, however, when they grabbed a 11-10 victory over the Winnipeg Goldeyes.
For the day, Beaty went 4-for-7 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored.
"I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Beaty said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me. The ball seemed that big to me. And it just floated in."
Matt Beaty grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Larry Hesterfer in the 7th, hit an RBI triple in the 8th, flied out in the 11th and singled in the 14th.
For the year Beaty is batting .280 with 77 hits and 9 home runs. He has scored 54 times and driven in 41. | | |
