 | Dreadful Season Sees Playoff Hopes Dashed for Winnipeg Tuesday, August 16th, 2005 Any hopes of a playoff berth for the Winnipeg Goldeyes this season were already a long shot at best. But even the longshot hopes are now gone, as the team was officially eliminated from playoff contention today. Winnipeg last appeared in the postseason in 1999. This is their 6th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 36 times in their 43-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Goldeyes have missed the playoffs 8 times. |   |
