His status grew today as the ace pitcher was named the winner of the 2005 Senior Circuit Most Impactful Player Award.
"I just want to pitch well and win games," he said. "The awards are nice though."
Foster's award-winning season saw him put up a 23-9 record through 41 starts, throwing 317 innings. He had 230 strikeouts with 23 walks and a 1.48 ERA. Opponents hit only .216 against him during the season.
Louis Santop of the Milwaukee Bears finished second in voting, while Willie Wells of the Chicago Federals finished third. | | |
