Washington Senators starter Jack Fisher pitched a strong game against the Los Angeles Angels at RFK Stadium, leading the Senators to victory, 5-3. Washington goes to 16-17, Los Angeles to 16-16.

In the bottom of the sixth, Washington left fielder Jim Rice gave his team the lead. With one out and a runner on 1st, Jim Ed hit his 7th home run of the year. Los Angeles pitcher Buttons Briggs surrendered it. With that, the Senators jumped in front, 4-3.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Rice said.
