Lee Handcuffs Senators, Browns Seize 1-0 Advantage in Division Round
The St. Louis Browns started the Division Round in dominant fashion today, blowing out the visiting Washington Senators at Sportsman's Park by a score of 11-1 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Browns left-hander Cliff P Lee turned in a fine performance. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball.

Lee, who was born in Benton, Arkansas, threw 115 pitches over 8.1 innings, while allowing 1 run.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Jeff Patterson said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow in St. Louis. Slated to start are Mickey Harris for Washington and Mike Sirotka for St. Louis.
